You have three choices when it comes to deciding WHERE to have the programs and data that make up your ECOForms system. The options are.......
How do you make the choice ?
If you only work with a few forms then it's probably much more convenient to have us host your forms on one of our servers and take care of all the security and data backup issues for you.
If you have a lot of forms (especially if you have in house IT staff) then you may prefer to have the programs and data reside on your own server. This is particularly appropriate if all the users are working on the same local network (ie : they are not connecting to the system over the public internet so the security is inherently stronger)
A third choice is to run a small server dedicated to ECOForms and have it physically located on your own local network. This is a popular option where you (or your IT department) want to have the comfort of having the forms system under their control but have us manage the forms system for you. This is an inexpensive option for most small and medium sized businesses as the computer required does not need a high specification or and expensive Windows server licence. Alternatively you could implement the EcoForms server as a Virtual Machine.
