These are two allied but separate topics - security is mainly about keeping your software and data safe from external threats while control is about making sure that only people who are authorised to access the system can do so and in the way that management decide is right.
Because the client end (ie phone, tablet or PC you use to enter/access the data) communicates over either a local network and /or the public internet there is always the danger that hackers can intercept an use your private information. Even worse is the prospect that criminals could use the internet to pretend to be a legitimate user and enter or change data on your forms at will. In order that you are protected from potential abuse all aspects of communication between users and ECOForms storage are fully encrypted in both directions (user to server an server to to user) to preserve your privacy and integrity of your information.
Control issues are about ensuring that only authorised people can access your forms system. This is different from keeping hackers out - you may have 100 people with legitimate access to your computer network but just half of them with a need to use ECOForms. As a standard feature you also have access to a complete HISTORY of all changes made to all form data. This enables you to identify who entered what at exactly what date & time. the history records are NOT changeable - even by system administrators.
